Since we're planning to build the doors tomorrow, I figured I should design them. These doors will be both for the pocket doors and the dressing room door. Here's the images:

Since the latest CP newsletter included a link to this page, I figured I should dress it up a bit. I have created a new page for the images I have found on the web that are serving as inspiration for me. I have also added comments about my thoughts on each picture and how it fits into the design overall.

Ok, I've finally sat down and transfered some of my ideas from wetware to my CAD software(I'm looking for some new software too, if anyone has any suggestions). Unfortunately, I lost about an hours worth of detail work tonight, so I have put up what I had on this page. Everything here is fluid and open to change.

Some things that I want to change (and was working on):

  1. Door in SR Wall
    1. Door itself will be 30"x7'6" 6 pannel door (will need to build)
    2. Door, with 6" in either side will be recessed from SR wall 1 foot like window SL.
    3. Header over door will be 18" and not recessed
  2. Window
    1. Header over window will be 18" and not recessed
    2. Window will be 2 sliding windows (non functional)
    3. Top section of window will have leaded stained glass pattern, bottom section will be translucent
  3. Fireplace
    1. I'm not convinced I like the style of either fireplace in the basement of 51 Walden, will probably need to build one
  4. Sliding Doors
    1. Will be taller, probably around 6'8" tall. Not sure of width as I type this, but will also be pannel doors, also probably 6 pannel.

These images can all be clicked on for larger versions. The measurements, for the most part, detail the length of the walls. The walls that make up the set proper will be 10' tall. It may be possible to use 8' flats for escape and masking walls. Will probably need to build up the US wall with either black duv flats or just mask with a teaser to hide escapes on the steps. Speaking of the steps, each step will go up 8" and each tread will be 1' wide.
